Parkes founded and owned the 5,000 capacity Brixton Academy throughout the 90s, transforming it into London's most credible venue through a diet of all night raves, rock gigs and hip hop shows (the venue ended up being the ONLY London theatre to happily book rap). His presence at the 2,200 capacity Coronet should transform the venue which opened as a club then nearly closed immediately, this summer.
