Miami Music Conference's Better Days (March 18-22)

This year's dance music conference in Miami is switching from the traditional Saturday to Wednesday schedule to a new Tuesday to Saturday routine, meaning the usual schedule of parties will be radically different from usual.

Subliminal's annual bash at Crobar, featuring sets from Erick Morillo, Who Da Funk and the usual Subliminal suspects shifts from their Monday slot to a Wednesday (March 19) whilst the conference's biggest single event the 30,000 capacity Ultra Music (daytime) Festival remains on a Saturday though now concludes rather than starts the annual conference. The date change is unlikely to make too much difference since it remains within America's Spring Break holiday, meaning the thousands of college boys and students will still be all over Miami Beach.

One of the most interesting parties of the week is likely to be the Gigolo Records showcase where DJ Hell will introduce his key Gigolo acts including Fischerspooner. The advice for anyone going is to sort out guest list/ tickets/ VIP bracelets in advance as gaining admission to virtually every club (with or without passes) is slow and laborious.

(Bayfront Park, downtown Miami: Saturday March 22, 11am-1am: $50)
