Metrosexual Men Branded Pluckers

Metrosexual inventor Mark Simpson disowned the increasingly popular marketing term this week, telling Yahoo, 'if I'd known that metrosexuals would take over the world and make everyone wear fake tan and use glutinous hair care products I would have written about baseball instead.'

The Yahoo article also introduced several new spin-off terms for modern men, including metrocloset ('a metrosexual who is in denial') and the even catchier retrosexual ('a man who refuses to pluck his eyebrows or use hair products').

Simpson's latest declaration came weeks after he also slated contemporary gay culture, writing in the Guardian 'gay fabulousness is a myth'.

"Gays may have provided a self-obsessed prototype for metrosexuality, but this doesn't mean they are still ahead of the curve," he pronounced.

"As much younger, hipper people than I might say: 'so gay- so over'."
