'MTMR001 - Extra Phenomena' - the EP by Melbourne Techno Massive Recordings [MTMR], this week shot to # 7 on the TuneInn.com charts (UK's no.1 Techno Vinyl Specialist's) in its first week of release. Nestled proudly between techno greats Ben Sims, Bryan Zentz and DJ Misjah; Melbourne Techno Massive are intent on raising Melbourne's techno profile on a global level.

"Melbourne is home to some of the best talent in techno, amongst other genres, and we are extremely proud to be part of the drive to put Melbourne back on the global techno map. We recently acquired TuneInn.com for sales of our debut release - MTMR001 Extra Phenomena EP, and in its first week of selling, it has topped as the 7th bestseller!! We are over the moon!!" - Label Managers Peter Daris & Nick Gaff.

The MTMR001 - Extra Phenomena EP consists of - On the Long side - The Machine; featuring Robert Anthony, Serotone and CHIRON lead singer Michael Aliani who provides the deeply mystifying vocals to a superbly executed bass line, smooth strings and a killer break.

On the Info Side - Dark Envy is a relentless onslaught of hard pounding techno, complete with atmospheric fill-ins and a kick drum to die for; this is Melbourne techno at its finest!

Also included on the release are 12 DJ friendly locked grooves. Ranging from electro, breaks, booty tek to hard techno and tek-house; this collection is perfect for the 3 deck DJ and those who love to layer sounds upon sounds.

Melbourne Techno Massive Recordings [MTMR] is the brainchild of Peter Daris & Nick Gaff. Officially forming in mid 2002; the pair has achieved admirable success, in a very short space of time. Both The Machine and Dark Envy are blowing punters away on the dance floor and a re-release through Germany and Holland is in the pipeline.

Also by MTMR is MTMRCD001 - Partial Description; a compilation mixed by PDT, featuring local Melbourne artists: Linas, Komplex, Serotone, DJ Neo, Lil Dave, Robert Anthony, Degenerator, CHIRON & more. Partial Description is locally produced, designed and mixed right here in Melbourne!

Following on from Partial Description will be the release of MTMR002 - Psychotic Detriment; due in late April. MTMR002 will feature tracks and locked grooves from Komplex, Linas & PDT with extra locked grooves courtesy of Degenerator.

Just to keep the Melbourne Techno Massive spirit alive, Peter and Nick also run Melbourne's freshest weekly techno night - Night Shift. Night Shift provides the platform for MTM artists and new comers alike to really experience just what techno has to offer.

…and to think they are just getting started.
