Acclaimed sonic experimentalist Matthew Herbert has produced a track for his upcoming album Goodbye Swingtime which features the sound of his computer printing pages of text from a website detailing secret US involvement in South America.

"Its URL: www.soav.org heard being typed out in the opening bars, is a site detailing America's ongoing involvement with Latin American dictactors and their ruthless commanders," says Herbert on the accompanying press release.

"Whilst what can be heard could be the sound of a printer, printing any number of things, it isn't. It's printing something completely specific and thus can sound absolutely no other way."

His big band style album, which comes out on Accidental Records also includes Herberts efforts to transform newspaper cuttings on the war on Iraq into musical instruments and is out on May 19.
