The promoter of Massive Attack's Melbourne concert says it will go ahead despite the cult band's star being questioned on child pornography allegations.

Avon and Somerset police have confirmed that Robert Del Naja, 36, known as 3D, was arrested at his home in Bristol, England, this week. Police seized computer equipment and class A drugs, believed to be ecstasy.

Police attached to Britain's national child porn crackdown, Operation Ore, questioned Del Naja, who is promoting Massive Attack's fourth album 100th Window.

He was released on bail after six hours pending further inquiries.
He has not been charged.

"I have never looked at child pornography in my life," he said.
"I am fully co-operating with the police and I would ask everyone not to judge me prematurely. I have total faith in the justice system."

Massive Attack, a seminal name in dance culture and pioneers of the "triphop" sound, are due to play at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena on March 11.

A spokeswoman for promoter Michael Coppel said: "As far as we are concerned the tour is going ahead."

A spokesman for the band's Australian record label, Virgin, would not comment.

Del Naja is a founding member of Massive Attack
