Fabric will be opening for a marathon 12 hour session this Saturday night, to mark the East London club fourth birthday, with headline acts including Blackstrobe, LFO and Andy Weatherall.

Earlier this year the club faced serious financial problems connected to initial building costs, though PR chief Nick Docherty told Skrufff the club's longer term future had never been in doubt.

"It has been a tough year, but it isn't exclusive to our business to be lacking job security: everyone feels a bit under threat every now and then and we're no different," he conceded.

"Right now Fabric has never been in a better situation, nothing has changed," he added.

"When Muzik closed, Conor McNicholas (Muzik's former editor turned NME chief) was quoted as saying 'it's been a hell of a party and now we're suffering the hangover.' Well, we always felt our invite had been lost in the post anyway, like a lot of other peoples'."

Friday 17: Coldcut, Errol Alkan, John Peel; Saturday 18: Blackstrobe, Colin Dale, LFO [live]; next week A Certain Ratio (Live), Photek, Chicken Lips etc)
