Kraftwerk Go MTV Crazy

Legendary German techno pioneers Kraftwerk have announced they'll be performing live alongside The Darkness, Dido and Beyonce at next month's MTV Awards in Leith Scotland.

Their surprising decision to embrace MTV is likely to irrevocably destroy reputation as enigmatic, hype free perfectionists, particularly since guest presenters at the ceremony include Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Kelly Osbourne (though there's no news yet who'll be introducing the band).

The band will presumably be promoting tracks from their latest album 'Tour De France Soundtracks' plus one or two oldies from their revered 33 year back catalogue.

"I'm not surprised at how popular electronic music has become," band-leader Ralf Hutter told DJ magazine in July.

"We predicted it."
