Judge Jules will be definitely DJing in China this October despite the reappearance of SARS in Singapore, he told Skrufff this week. The Radio 1 jock stressed he's determined to make the gig, even if the threat from the potentially fatal, flu-like illness intensifies.

"Playing in Mainland China has been one of my lifelong ambitions, that's only been made realistic with the opening up of the country in the last five years," said Jules.

"I thought about it during the last outbreak and if I'd been booked to play then I still would have visited even whilst SARS was at a crisis level."

Paul Oakenfold escaped infection when he played on the Great China Wall in April, as did Pete Tong, who DJed in Singapore in May.

"Of course SARS is a great concern and I have gone to great lengths to convince myself that travelling there is a reasonable risk," Pete told Skrufff at the time.

"But I wouldn't go to Hong Kong or China right now, Paul told me he wouldn't return there either, even though he recently played in China, just before the government owned up about the situation," he added.

Jules is scheduled to be in China on October 29, DJing to an expected crowd of 50,000 revellers at what will be the country's biggest dance event yet.
