Jamelia Soldiers On Despite Her Brother's Shooting

UK R&B singer Jamelia is going ahead with promotional duties for her much anticipated new album Thank You, despite her brother Tafarwa Beckford being shot in the head last month.

21 year old Tararwa was shot a few days after Birmingham newspaper The Sunday Mercury named him as a suspect in the New Year's Day murders of teenagers Charlene Ellis and Letisha Shakespeare, in a drive-by shooting linked to gang wars in the city.

According to the BBC, a spokeswoman from Jamelia's record label Parlophone said the artist was aware of the incident though pointed out 'We look after Jamelia and not members of her family.'

Jamelia also releases a new single Superstar on September 15.
