Jam Master Jay Murder Case Still Unsolved

Six months have passed since rap music icon Jam Master Jay was murdered and still no arrests have been made.

Jason Mizell, DJ of rap music's most influential act, Run-DMC, was killed by a masked gunman on October 30, while playing video games in his Queens, New York recording studio.

NYPD Lieutenant Alfred Murphy told WINS, "We're not at a standstill. We're still hopeful ...People close to him have not been as cooperative as we'd like."

A search was carried out on a New York-area home based on a tip that the murder weapon, a .40 caliber gun, was inside, but found nothing illegal.

There is a $60,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to an arrest in the case.

In related news, Jam Master Jay's bandmate DMC will release his solo debut album, Chex, Thuggs And Rock & Roll, in October.
