Paul Masterton, the Irish producer whose tranced up cover of Ultra Nate's Your Free is poised for imminent UK chart success, admitted this week that he's less than comfortable with the hedonism he encounters on Ibiza.

"I do go to Ibiza and I do like to have a good time out there but I restrict the time I spend out there,"Paul told Skrufff (speaking in his Yomanda guise).

"I'm not somebody who likes to go out and take loads of drugs and get smashed and I don't drink alcohol at all," he revealed.

"I get people saying 'Why don't you try a drink of champagne' and I'm actually an Irish man and I have never tasted alcohol before. I don't feel pressurized, some people would give in to peer pressure but I'm strong enough to know that I don't want to go down that route. I actually love to have a straight thinking mind and to know exactly what I'm doing and where I'm going."

As well as being put off by Ibiza's contemporary temptations, the Belfast raised producer admitted he's less than keen on the Island's traditional attractions.

"The other factor for me is that I'm not a sun lover, I'm very fair skinned," he said.

"I hate the sun."

Paul plays just two dates in Ibiza this season, 15th July at Garlands and 17th August at Judgement Sunday. Yomanda's Your Free is out on Monday July 11 (UK) on Incentive Records. His current Hi Gate album (co-produced with Judge Jules) is also out now, also on Incentive.
