Acclaimed breaks duo Hybrid have looked beyond their dance floor roots towards rock, pop and classical music for their new album Morning Sci-Fi, band leader Chris Healings said this week.

"We've been listening to absolutely anything other than dance music," he admitted. "I suppose that is because dance music is so ingrained in what we do naturally.

"Last time it was quite specific what we were doing, it was breakbeat crossed with a massive orchestra crossed with Judy Cruise, it was all guns blazing," he told Skrufff.

"This time things have slowed down a hell of a lot more and got a bit more intimate and experimental."

Morning Sci-Fi is released on July 21st via Distinctive Records and includes contributions from Peter Hook (New Order), John Creamer and ex Opus 3 chanteuse Kirtsy Hawkshaw.
