Leicester four piece The Strand have produced an electroclash remix of the Human League's classic 80s synth anthem Open Your Heart, which is released this week on Virgin.

The new mix, which precedes a whole host of additional new house versions of '..Heart' plus Sound Of The Crowd, is likely to prove particularly popular with mainman Phil Oakey, judging by remarks he made to Skrufff in a recent interview.

"I like electroclash, though I don't think it has had the big hitters yet that it needs, there isn't an Abba or The Beatles in the genre yet, but they'll come, I'm sure," said Phil.

"I love Miss Kittin, Adult, Dot Alison, they're fantastic."

The veteran 80s pop star also makes his London DJing debut at Return to New York shortly, where he'll be spinning alongside DJ Hell and Trash mainman Errol Alkan.
