England's best known dance festival Homelands are ditching branding from 6 of the 9 arenas at this year's event, confirming the continuing decline in Britain's superclub brands.

"(We've done it) because time moves on and we have too," said event organiser Melvin Benn from the Mean Fiddler.

"Dance music is not about 'the club names' the way it used to be. It's about the core of the music policy and the DJs going into the mix of the genres and we are representing that now."

Highlights of this year's event (taking place on May 24 at the usual Matterley Bowl location) include live sets from the Streets and Groove Armada plus DJ appearances from the Chemical Brothers, 2 Many DJs, Errol Alkan plus the usual superstar DJ cast. The event is also embracing techno in a big way for the first time, with Umek, Dave Clarke, Christian Smith and Jeff Mills just some of the heavyweights already confirmed.
