The international streaming dance music website and online record store Groovetech.com has quietly disappeared from the Internet. Phones at Groovetech's Seattle offices were not answered this week and neither were emails responded to.

Groove Technology was founded by Brian Pember and Zach Jenkins (previously employed by Real Audio) initially as a local online resource for the electronic music scene in Seattle, Washington, USA) during the mid 1990's. Groovetech soon expanded by providing online radio broadcasts in Real Audio format from studios in Seattle (USA), San Francisco (USA) and London (UK). In 1999 the business grew into an online store providing vinyl to DJs around the world.

An early sign of Groovetech's struggles came when it's San Francisco studio closed last year. The company had attracted a considerable amount of investment in recent years from high profile individuals such as Ronnie Wood, a member of the Rolling Stones.
