Wu Tang Clan fans around the country are eagerly counting the days as the first ever Wu Tang tour of any kind in Australia fast approaches.

The tour is headed by the RZA, the Wu-Tang Clan's certifiable leader, founder and producer, renowned as one of the most prolific producers in hip hop. Performing live alongside him will be special guests Cilvaringz (Killa Beez), Beretta 9 (Killarmy, Wu Tang Clan), and DJ Sueside (official Wu Tang Clan's DJ) plus local MC Trey.

Enthusiasts of kung-fu films, the Wu Tang Clan attach a Shaolin discipline to the art of rhyming. Drop kicking rapid-fire wisecracking and playing off each other, they push the lyrical envelope, plundering metaphorical gold mines in the process. RZA's production work rapidly became one of the most recognisable and influential sounds in hip-hop with their 1993 debut album 'Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)' notching up gold status. Establishing the Wu Tang as one of the most innovative (and most surreal) musical collectives on the planet, the success of the 'C.R.E.A.M.' single helped in making the crew one of the hottest tickets in rap. Their follow up, 'Wu-Tang Forever', was one of the most eagerly anticipated hip hop releases ever, and entered the US charts at number 1. Many platinum albums and a Grammy later, RZA is still building the Wu Tang empire.

RZA (aka Prince Rakeem aka Bobby Digital aka. Rzarecta aka Robert Diggs) has produced or co-produced or appeared on every Wu-Tang cut from any of the members. His Wu empire includes a production company, record labels, clothing company Wu Wear and Wu Electronics, and has branched out into film. The Wu Tang video clips have charted new territory in music video production, being like mini-movies in themselves -check out http://www.wutangworld.com/videos.html to view. RZA also formed the Gravediggaz with Prince Paul, and has worked on film soundtracks such as 'Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai' and recently the new Quentin Tarantino film 'Kill Bill' soundtrack. RZA has a brand new album 'The World According To RZA' slated for August 18.

On stage with RZA, true to the original Wu-Tang sound that conquered the world, Cilvaringz is a fierce and energetic performer. Beretta 9 features on all the RZA albums and is a high ranking member of the Wu-Tang affiliated group Killarmy. DJ Sueside is the official international DJ for RZA and Wu-Tang Killa Beez setting things off on a recent 26 country European Tour with RZA and Masta Killa. And finally, having shared a stage with some of hip hop's most distinguished purveyors, Sydney-based MC Trey is the support for the East Coast gigs in this the first ever Wu Tang tour here. Don't miss what will be a performance to behold - highly anticipated by Wu Tang fans around the globe.
