Electroclash Lives: NME Admit They're Conservative

After six months of continually mocking electroclash as dead, NME have characteristically changed their minds, this week publishing a curious feature announcing it's the Next Big Thing for 2003.

"As you know, you shouldn't believe everything in print," the indie rock weekly amazingly admitted. "When electroclash appeared early last year, it was too exciting for a conservative media."

"Far from being dead, electroclash has swiftly established itself as a new genre of dance music," they confessed.

"It's as relevant to clubland as techno, garage and house."

In the same Predictions for 2003 special, the title also suggested this year's drug of choice will be MDMA powder (powdered ecstasy).

"It's convenient- you can snort it, dab at it or take it in capsules. It doesn't make you feel all wonky when you come up (feel its effects)," they claimed.
