Dino Lenny- Drugs Are Good But…

Dino Lenny, the Italian producer behind the new club version of the Housemartin's 80s ballad Change The World, spoke to Skrufff this week and revealed that he's abandoned drugs in favour of sharp edged sobriety.

"Drugs are good as long as they're used recreationally and are used at the right moment, but I am substantially against all kinds of drugs," said Dino.

"For me personally, drugs don't work anymore.. I've moved on and I've got other priorities. Having fun is still a priority but I want to do it as straight as possible because I like working with a straight mind."

Hugely successful via such pseudonyms as Adam Dived, Zero Campione and his more recent electroclash persona Andrea Doria, Dino first made his name in 1989 with Balearic anthem Cocaine, which he clearly then had at least some familiarity with.

"Cocaine is a boring drug- it's a great drug but it's really boring at the same time. After you've taken it for a while it just makes you feel like a statue," said Dino.

Dino Lenny Versus the Housemartins' Change The World is out now on Craig Dimech's new label free2air.
