Danny Rampling will be DJing for free at Clapham club The White House this Wednesday for a charity fund-raising event for the Nelson Mandela's Children's Fund. The legendary house DJ helped launch acid house via his seminal club Shooom in the late 80s, and has maintained his status as one of the world's most popular DJs.

"I work as hard now as I did at the beginning," he told Skrufff in a recent interview.

"It's such a huge industry these days and it you don't keep on top of it and work hard and put the effort in then you fall by the wayside. There's a serious amount of competition out there which is far more aggressive than it used to be. At first the club scene was all about unity whereas now it's mainly about the business," he continued.

"So you have to work very hard all the time."

Danny will be spinning between midnight and 2am though early arrival is recommended since admission is free (ie donations). Doors open at 5.30pm.
