Westminster Council have stopped trying to remove the licence of London's best live venue the Astoria, after conducting a 8 month campaign to close the theatre. The council cancelled the venue's licence following shootings at a So Solid concert and continued to try and close the venue even after magistrates re-imposed the licence.

Their decision to drop their appeal will delight Mean Fiddler chief Vince Powers who said in April, "I struggle to understand what the council would stand to gain from seeking The Astoria's closure." (Standard).
