Bugged Out's Sex-Obsessed NYE Lineup (Hackney Ocean)

2 Many DJs, Erol Alkan, Black Strobe's Ivan Smagghe and Ewan Pearson, who headline Bugged Out's New Years Eve party next month, will be serving up a deliberately raunchy soundtrack, co-promoter Johnno told Skrufff this week.

"They've all got a very sleazy, salacious sound to their music, it's quite sex obsessed," said Johnno.

"They're all friends because they all came from the electroclash explosion and even though they've all gone in different directions they've still got that same attitude."

Bugged Out are teaming up with The Boutique again to promote the event which significantly (certainly for Bugged Out) doesn't include any techno DJs.

"It's a sign of the times in a sense, we still put techno on at Bugged Out parties but it's usually mixed up with other DJs," said Johnno.

"I think 6 hours of banging techno would wear me, and most people, out these days. People's ears have changed and they want more variety. The days of loopy, linear techno sets for hours on end is not where our head's at."

Bugged Out Meets the Boutique takes place at Hackney's spacious purpose built theatre/club the Ocean again, between 9pm and 6am with tickets priced at £35.
