Christopher Lawrence was detained and questioned for over two hours by security staff at Los Angeles international airport after they discovered traces of explosives on an amplifier he was carrying in his luggage.

The hugely popular DJ was seized as he tried to check in for a flight to Australia several weeks ago and police were so concerned they evacuated the entire United Airlines check-in area, he told Skrufff this week.

"I was interviewed by people from the bomb squad, the FBI, the LAPD and officials from United Airlines, it went on and on, there were at least 30 officials involved," said Christopher.

"Surprisingly, the Bomb Squad was the coolest, perhaps because they were the youngest and live their lives on the edge- They were the only ones that were interested in my music, anyway. To the rest of the various officers, what I did was irrelevant. For them it was a black and white situation. Either I had a bomb or I didn't."

The trance/ house jock admitted, however, that he'd been shaken by the whole experience.

"They didn't point guns at me but it's a little intimidating when the bomb squad surround you, all dressed up in their jump suits, boots, bullet proof vests and helmets."

He was released without further problems after airport authorities confirmed the suspect amplifier was safe, though surprisingly, cops told the LA based DJ that it had been contaminated with explosive residue (he'd bought the machine just a week before from a local store.) Christopher also revealed that when he got to Australia customs officials had other concerns.

"When I arrived in Australia they searched me but didn't even bother checking the equipment when I went through customs and immigration," he said.

"They were more concerned about the 18 jars of organic baby food I had, that I was bringing food into their country."
