Basement Jaxx take it easy in the studio

Basement Jaxx have told Radio 1 making their new album has been a more chilled out affair than the previous ones.

The duo are one of the acts to appear on the The War Child 'Hope' CD. Their track 'Love is The Answer' features one of Simon's reggae heroes, Yellowman.

They're hoping for an autumn release for their new album, and Simon tells us things are a little bit more relaxed in the studio:

"Yeah it's going well. It is going well. I think we both feel positive. Things are at a slightly more mellow pace than they were before but I think that's good cos for us, the first two albums, it was definitely a kind of whirlwind, the whole thing."

"So we've had time to step back a little bit, which is healthy, really enjoying just kind of coming to the studio and being able to do what we do. Things are pretty good really."
