Electroclash sex symbol Fil OK chatted to Skrufff this week and denied that his penchant for slapping mountains of make-up made him a 21st century gender-bender.

"I'll tell you the term I prefer- the third sex," said Fil.

"You've got men, you've got women then you've got this grey area in between that's the third sex. I'd class myself with them."

Fil was speaking to Skrufff about the imminent release of Atomizer's electroclash anthem Hooked On Radiation, though was equally ambiguous about defining its style.

"Calling it an electroclash anthem sounds quite nice, because it's been out for so long, but when people ask us what we call our sound and I always say electropunk," he said.

"But all genres are being mashed up right now anyway so it doesn't really matter."

Fil, who also DJs at Nag, Nag, Nag every Wednesday, also revealed he's unaffected by the relentless onstage teasing of his bandmate Jonny Slut which culminated in Jonny recently asking an audience if any keyboard players were available.

"Yeah, he was advertising for a new keyboard player live on stage when my keyboard stopped working," he chuckled.

"But it was Jonny's fault, he pulled the plug out by mistake, because of his onstage antics. It's all part of the act though, we're like Dame Edna and Madge, Madge is the little old woman Dame Edna picks on."

Atomizer's Hooked On Radiation (featuring new mixes by the Pet Shop Boys and Punk Soundtrax) is out on Gigolo Records on Monday September 29.
