American superstar DJ Christopher Lawrence spins in his home town of San Francisco this weekend, in the city where he once worked in a 9 to 5 office job. The hard trance/ techno spinner, who won the Best DJ Awards at last year's Best DJ category of the Miami Conference's Dancestar Awards, headlines at Ruby Sky' Saturday night event, and will also be showcasing his new CD Exposure during his three hour set.

Speaking to Skrufff last year, the ultra down-to-Earth DJ admitted his Mother had played a major role in shaping his musical career.

"I graduated from Berkley University with an English degree and was doing an office job in San Francisco and I wasn't happy doing it, while I was really enjoying DJing," he recalled.

"So I needed to make a choice between DJing as a hobby or making the leap of faith to quite my job and focus on DJing. She was really supportive when I quit, despite being a little concerned that I was throwing it all away but agreed that the best thing to do was to follow my dreams. Even when things weren't going so well, she was always there for me."

According to his PR (and wife) Sara, Christoper's Mom is unlikely to be there for him at Ruby Sky this weekend, though she's often been spotted in other LA clubs.

"She actually went to Nikita in San Francisco once, which is Spundae's club," Sara told Skrufff.

"The promoter Guiv was giving her and her sister free drinks and they were loving it. She even hung out in the DJ booth and was later spotted out on the dance floor."
