David Harrow, the highly rated British electro pioneer who nowadays records as Technova, is set to return to Germany's Top 10 pop charts this week, with a track he first created in 1982. The London based producer sold hundreds of thousands of records in Germany during the early 80s, writing and producing electronic music for poetess Anne Clark and Sleeping in Metrepolis 3000 is a reworking of one of his biggest hits.

"The two hit singles of the time were Sleeping in Metropolis and Our Darkness," David told Skrufff this week.

"If you are a German of a certain age I will bet you my house that you'll have had a copy of one of those records. They were seminal tracks of the time."

The new version has been remixed by Marco Remus and is 'banging techno with a Germanic flavour', said David, who added he'd been taken by surprise by the record's renewed success in Germany.

"A friend of mine phoned me up from Berlin and said 'You're charting again' and I did a net search and the track is all over the place," he said.

"I believe Anne Clark has retired, though I still get the odd email from her. The album it was on sold hundreds of thousands of copies in the early 80s, then did it again in 1996 with the remix albums. So maybe it will happen again."

Following his early 80s German success, Harrow went on to work with Genesis p Orridge's Psychic TV, Jah Wobble and Andy Weatherall and also produced Atari Teenage Riot.
