High-octane house DJ Tom Stephan picked Kelli Ali's new single Kids as his single of the month for Muzik magazine despite giving fellow New Yorker Armand Van Helden's mix nought points out of five.

"We'll give Armand Van Helden zero 'coz that's what he'd do to me," he explained. "I don't like rock house- I like house because it's not rock."

In club news, meanwhile, Tom DJs at Bournemouth's Maison club this weekend (Saturday 23rd February) and has also just launched a website for his upcoming monthly at London's Turnmills club, Roaches (complete with digital insects scuttling across the screen).

The night launches on Saturday April 27 with a focus "on real talent, not so-called A-list DJ's who rarely deliver the kind of sets worthy of their position," as the club's press release intriguingly puts it.
