Sunglasses At Night producer DJ Tiga's has delivered a fantastic mix CD to his new UK label Studio K7, suggesting electro-disco is set to explode in the New Year. Significantly, the 25 track mix CD's best tracks are new productions including Tiga's sublime version of Miss Kittin's Madame Hollywood which seems certain to achieve Sunglasses style crossover success.

Maintaining the synth disco-pop electronica style already packing clubs like Jonny Slut's Nag Nag Nag and Soulwax, the CD also dips into the 80s via Soft Cell's classic noir anthem So and Stevie V's Dirty Cash, though resolutely avoids the 90s, a decade Tiga loathes.

"Soon younger kids will regard the '90's as ridiculous with its fluoro colours, funny hats and rave gear," Tiga told Skrufff earlier this year.

"Everything was either non conceptual electronic music, dance music with no thought in it at all, or pre-packaged bullshit corporate stuff. Honest, personal artistry in music has been lacking for a while and what's happening now it's just a reaction to that.

For me the '80's are having a big resurgence, especially in music, because of the lack of excitement within the music industry right now," he added.

"Whatever people may say, the early 80s, in particular, were about experimental music and naïve self expression, all underlined by a sense of fun."

DJ Tiga's DJ Kicks album is out on Studio K7 in January.
