Linda Lamb's Hot Room (Gigolo)
Sunglasses At Night producer DJ Tiga has remixed the latest release on DJ Hell's electroclash label Gigolo, Linda Lamb's Hot Room.

Lamb is a former New York voiceover artist and singer who performed on stage Stateside alongside acts including Tina Turner, Junior Walker and James Brown, then jacked it all in to go travelling. Ending up back in New York via London and Paris she ran an alternative fashion/music shop Smylon Nylon (later called Dick) from where she came to the attention of Hell.

Hot Room, her debut release for Gigolo is the demo tape that caught his attention, and he liked it so much, the original version hasn't even been remastered. The 12 inch single is out now.

America's Hardest Female DJ Irene: Photosynthesis
Still largely unknown in Europe, LA's DJ Irene is America's biggest selling female DJ, specialising in take-no-prisoners seriously hard house music, though her new CD Phono Synthesis sees her embracing wider styles. Including tracks from Tiesto, PPK, Barterzz and Cosmic Gate it's distinctly more varied album including breaks, drum & bass (Aphrodite) and trance.

"This album is still hard music my fans love, but it's grown up adult hard," says Irene. "My fans and new listeners will dig it."

Irene has to date sold over 300,000 compilation mix CDs and looks set to continue her remorseless rise to the top of America's DJ tree. She also fronts a group called Pusaka, alongside Thunderpuss mainman Chris Cox and Thea Austin.

Red Jerry's New Progressive Era Goes 'Further'
Telepopmusik, Felix Da Housecat and Paul Mac are just three of the names appearing on Red Jerry's new Hooj Tunes compilation Further, which follows up his 2001 mix CD New Progressive Era.

"Further is basically the follow up without the crap name" the press release says and is intended "to reflect the dance floor shifts that have inevitably occurred since the last outing."

In practise, this means the collection is more varied, progressing from the tribal house of Lula and Lovesky to the Detroit style grooves of Fabrice Lig. Further is out now on Hooj.

Green Velvet Don's His Cajmere Coat for Walter Phillips
Schizophrenic Chicago housesetr Curtis Jones (best known for his Green Velvet electro anthem La La Land) returns to his ultra sophisticated lounger persona, to relaunch his house label Cajual, with Walter Phillips new single Sometimes I do.

The duo first collaborated together 4 years ago on Cajmere's 1997 hit Only 4 U, when the then R&B obsessed singer insisted his name was kept off the credits. Four years on Phillips has seen the (house) light and Sometimes I Do is the result.

Soulful late night disco-house with a distinctive Chicago tinge, the track is dominated by Philips' lyrics and silky voice, delivered in a song style rather than club cut.

Sometimes I do is out on July 8.
