Thai Police Drug Test Western Clubbers

Western clubbers in the Thai resort of Pattaya risk being seized from dance floors, and drug tested on the spot by cops, according to an alarming article in local magazine The Nation.

According to a letter published in the magazine's latest issue, a French clubber was recently caught up in one 4am raid and flung in jail after a urine test proved positive. He was allegedly beaten, held in the cells for two days and eventually forced to confess, despite never having used drugs in his life, the letter writer claimed.

"After he had learned that the police could keep him in jail for an unspecified period of time until he signed, he finally agreed to the charges. He will have to pay a fine, will be deported and blacklisted," the Frenchman 's cousin said.
