Glastonbury Festival organisers have announced full line-up details for their event next weekend (June 28-30) which includes three loosely themed days in the dance tent.

Friday's trance, techno and dub day is headlined by Sasha and Nick Warren, Glasgow's Slam and System 7 while Saturday sees a raft of UK garage/ drum & bass acts making their debut including Marky & Pacife, EZ and the Genius Crew. Highlights of Sunday's decidedly more downtempo day are likely to be Zero 7 and Alex Gopher.

Event organisers continue to beg ticketless people to stay away on their website, though according to System 7's Steve Hillage their absence is likely to be significant.

"I'm going there with an open mind, but obviously in the past it's been generally agreed that a lot of the people who used to get in for free, brought a lot of the vibe and those people largely won't be there this year," Steve told Skruffff this week.

"But I know why they have to do the fence, particularly after the disaster at Roskilde. I also must say at Glastonbury 2000, the crowd safety issue did cause concern," he added.

"I have to keep an open mind though I hope the Glastonbury spirit will prevail and it won't get Mean Fiddler-ed out of existence."

If many ticketless revellers do turn up for the festival, most will probably head for a 20,000 capacity free rave that several Glastonbury village residents are reportedly planning. Both Mendip Council and the police have reportedly already condemned the unlicensed event.
