Space (Ibiza) Opens on June 2

Ibiza superclub Space, who run predominantly in the daytime, have announced they'll be opening on Sunday June 2ne this year, informally launching Ibiza's clubbing season for 2002. Carl Cox, Steve Lawler and Sasha headline the launch party alongside the club's local residents including Alfredo, David Moreno and Oscar Colorado. Doors open at 8am for an event that goes on until 6am Monday morning.

The club remains one of Ibiza's most popular though in recent years has been somewhat eclipsed in credibility terms by DC10, which attracts a rougher and harder partying crowd than the super-rich packed into Space. The opening weekend also coincides with Homelands Festival and the Queen's Golden Jubilee weekend, suggesting less Brits than usual will be kicking off the year.
