San Antonio's beaches are the most crowded in Europe, with only enough room for 1.1 towels per person, according to a new survey by Thomson Holidays. The Ibiza resort's beaches are 50% more crowded than Majorca and almost five times busier than beaches in Cyprus, the survey said, prompting unusual advice for claiming more space."If you have children, get them to build a sandcastle upon arrival," they suggest. "No one likes to trample on a beautiful sand creation."
Thompsons' advice came just three weeks after unknown assailants destroyed a massive Cream sand sculpture on the beach front outside San Antonio's Bar M, which Cream blamed on jealous rivals. No further sandcastle incidents have happened since then, a Cream spokesperson told Skrufff this week, though they're maintaining a close watch just in case.
"All seems quiet on the sandcastle front," she said. "Let's just hope it's not too quiet."
