"I only re-mix songs that I really like, or I'd do it for artists who I really admire," Sanchez told Benedetta Ferraro.
"Big money has never interested me that much and even less so now; I also prefer to write with an artist rather than re-mix their track."
Ever since his 2001 single Another Chance topped pop charts worldwide the Ali G look-a-like has been in major demand, though as early as 1993 he'd already remixed Michael Jackson and established himself as a premier league DJ and producer.
"A lot of dance music, in particular, is very faceless and very generic, it could be done by anyone," said Roger.
"If, however, the music you hear has a recognisable trait or sound, then I would consider that as music made by an artist. An artist puts a particular signature on whatever he or she does; there is a vibe about them and their music."
Sanchez kicks of an intensive season of European DJ dates at London's Turnmills on June 22 (Release Yourself) before flying over to Ibiza to launch his Monday night event at Pacha (June 23).
