Veteran acid house DJ Rob Tissera will be using a CDJ1000 CD mixer for his upcoming tour of Australia, he told Skrufff this week and revealed that the machine has 'revolutionised' his DJing.

"One of the constraints of travelling is the amount of weight you can carry on planes and by carrying the CDJ player I can put loads of tracks onto CD as well as having vinyl," said Rob.

"Normally when I do a set I'll take about ten intro records with me, of explosions, countdowns and eerie vocals but now I've got them all on one CD of 20 acapellas. I'd go so far as to describe the CDJ1000 as a weapon; It's amazing and takes things far beyond playing records on a record player."

Rob will be headlining the Sundissential tour which starts in Wellington, New Zealand on October 18 and is already carefully planning his sets, he revealed.

"A lot of people say to me that the music scene is behind in Australia but I know that that's absolute rubbish; I've been over there eight times and I know that they're only a plane trip away from getting the latest promos," he pointed out.

"They're also ahead of us in real time. I'm spending some time talking to people out there beforehand too and finding out what records are big locally. Though when I arrive I'll be trying to live for the moment with a few set pieces thrown in as well."

Supporting DJs include Eddie Halliwell and Tolley.
