Rave Paraphernalia Linked With Ecstasy Use Again

Bottled water and glow sticks are warning signs for ecstasy users, according to a new ecstasy website set up by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America®. Other indicators suggesting teenagers are on E include them making new friends, becoming "very affectionate" or losing interest in sports, the site suggests.

"Teen experimentation with ecstasy is now equal to or greater than adolescent consumption of cocaine, crack, heroin, LSD and methamphetamine," says Stephen J. Pasierb, president of the organisation.

"In many respects, Ecstasy has become the rave generation's cocaine."

The Partnership's emphasis on rave accessories comes despite a recent court ruling, banning the DEA from linking such items with drug use. Bizarrely, the website also contradicts their own advice in their "Warning signs for parents" section, noting "ecstasy use is particularly easy to hide from a parent because it requires no paraphernalia".
