Erik R. Guenther, the Racine lawyer helping hundreds of revellers defend themselves against bogus charges following a police raid on a dance event, contacted Skrufff this week to correct an editorial error.

"Hello from Racine, Wisconsin, USA. Thank you for support," said Mr Guenther.

"I just had a short correction. I'm actually a private attorney who is volunteering with the ACLU to seek a dismissal of all of these cases. I don't work for the ACLU."

In more developments on the case, 63 of the first 81 defendants charged, confirmed that they'll be opting for trial, indicating that Racine's court system can expect hundreds of individual cases resulting from the raid. Assistant City Attorney Scott Lewis revealed he might not hire a special prosecutor, meaning the trials could stretch out for over a year. Police officers will need to testify at every single case, so reducing officers on the streets or costing local taxpayers huge amounts in overtime payments.
