In PvD world news, Paul will be releasing a Paul van Dyk - DVD (PVD-DVD) with footage shot on the German DJ's recent world tour including footage from New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Mexico City, Tokyo, Bangkok, Seoul, at the Love Parade and CSD in Berlin, at the Gatecrasher festival in Birmingham and in Amnesia, Ibiza. The DVD comes with a companion audio CD with a live mix from Casino, Berlin and a compilation of fresh remixes of tracks from the artists' trio of full-length albums, using newly developed 5.1 surround sound technology. The DVD will also feature the trailer and a new track 'Animacion' from the Mexican film debut of Carlos Salses 'Zudro' (English title - 'Lefty's Hand'), which Paul finished scoring this summer. The film premieres on January 16th, 2003 in Mexico City with Paul in attendance, followed by a 2 city tour in Mexico including Guadalajara and Mexico City. This DVD is a visual and musical journey through the global life and work of one of the most outstanding DJs and musicians in the world.
In other movie news, Paul is producing the title track for the Australian film 'One Perfect Day', starring Leeanna Walsman (Star Wars Episode 2) in a film about bridging the worlds of classical and dance music in a modern day love story. In France & Germany, a documentary for the European culture channel ARTE series 'Profile' featured Paul van Dyk the artist aired in October 2002. The 70-minute documentary follows PvD to his hometown Eisenhüttenstadt and travels with him around the world to clubs, as well as invites you into private talks with other artists that he admires, including Canadian singer Alanis Morissette and French designer Philipp Starck. "Profile Paul van Dyk" portrays an artist, who always succeeds in expressing a very special awareness of life in his music, and introduces artists who succeeded in doing the same in their own fields.
As Paul continues his global endeavors as a prolific artist, he continues to work in the studio for his next original artist album. The release is being scheduled for summer 2003 with a *special* pre-listening session at Winter Music Conference in Miami March 2003. Tags
