Revered Electronic Pioneers Orbital arrive in the US to celebrate their appearance in the film "XXX" and the release of the Greatest Hits collection "WORKS 89-02"

Orbital return to the States on Aug 5th for the premiere of the new spy thriller action film "XXX". The brothers Hartnoll appear in the movie in a cameo role debuting the specially composed track "Technologiskie Park" ( see link below)
The movie will star Vin Diesel, Samuel L Jackson, Rapper Eve and Asia Argento. Infamous German industrial rock group Rammstein will also feature in the movie.

Director Rob Cohen : "To get the true stranger in a strange land, you don¹t want the track riddled with hip-hop and American rock, you want to get a flavor; just as Vin's character gets the flavor; of this new world."

Whilst in the US, Phil and Paul will be promoting their new CD ,"Work 89-02", the retrospective collection from the most prolific dance producers to date.

Orbital release the soundtrack to the dance generation via FFRR/WSM Records on August 20th 2002.

"Orbital are one of the few constants in the ever-changing world of dance music...['Work 89-02' is] more than a decade¹s worth of classic rave anthems and timeless electronic symphonies" - Mixer, September 2002

Since their debut landmark release 'Chime' in 1989, Orbital have been trailblazers in the electronica movement with songs several steps ahead of their contemporaries. Not only did the Hartnoll brothers (Phil and Paul) take dance into the live arena but also pushed the concept of the dance album beyond a mere collection of singles, adding the longevity and credibility needed to boost a genre that many perceived as little more than a short-lived fad. Orbital paved a path for artists like Underworld and The Chemical Brothers to follow.

In essence, 'Work 1989-2001' documents the Orbital history from 1989¹s bedroom classic 'Chime' (remember where you were when you first heard it-) through to material from last years 'The Altogether' album. Included are the intoxicating beauty of 'Belfast'(who said that electronic music was mechanical-), the poignant 'Halcyon', 'The Box', and the new track, 'Frenetic'.

"Work" collates a career that has seen the duo enjoy Top 10 success, soundtrack Hollywood blockbusters ('The Saint', 'The Beach' and now XXX) and record genre-defining albums. Of course the performance at the 1994 Glastonbury festival was, by common consent, their apotheosis, as well as one of the greatest gigs (of any musical genre), of all time.

Never resting on their laurels, the Hartnoll brothers have collaborated with a wide array of artists including David Gray and Alison Goldfrapp, acclaimed film score composer Michael Kamen and Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett, as well as sampling everyone from Bon Jovi , Belinda Carlisle and Scott Walker.
