Oakey Abandons The Streets Who Then Blasts Blur

Paul Oakenfold "rather publicly" walked out of The Streets' debut New York live show half way through, according to this week's NME, despite Mike Skinner's respect shout to the superstar jock on his signature track Weak Become Heroes.

NME, however, gave much greater emphasis to on older story about Skinner meeting Damon Albarn, which suggests the rock weekly has now turned against Albarn's previously much revered indie band Blur.

"I didn't know who he was," Skinner reportedly said.

"He interrupted my conversation, stuck his hand out and just went 'Welcome'. I was just like, 'Oh shut up you pansy.' "
