Paul Oakenfold last week threatened to leave England, citing "negative and destructive" attitudes towards his success.

"I am constantly attacked for 'selling out', which basically means being successful and particularly being successful in America," Oakey complained in the Daily Telegraph. "People are the same about U2, but why- They're a fantastic band. It makes you want to leave."

His comments followed the release of his debut artist album Bunkka which attracted decidedly mixed reviews from the British press. DJ Mag called it "naff prog rock and shoddy hip pop" while NME declared it a "disaster". "Bunkka- the place dance music goes to die", they added.
