New UK Cannabis Laws: Don't Get Caught With 3 Grams Or 3 Times

British cannabis smokers caught more than three times in any twelve month period will still face arrest, according to new guidelines issued by British police this week. The new policy will effectively maintain Britain's 'don't get caught' attitude to drug control, maintaining divisions between the country's 5 million smokers and the cops.

Far more ominously, the new police guidelines will reportedly set personal possession limits at just 3 grams, less than the standard minimum measure, an eighth (3.5 grams). With people convicted of dealing set to face up to 14 years in jail, millions of users could find themselves facing prison sentences under the new laws. The 3 gram personal limit contrasts with Las Vegas where citizens will shortly be voting on whether to allow personal possession of 3 ounces (84grams) of marijuana.
