Melbourne based production collective NuBreed have inked a deal for the release of their debut album with highly respected and influential record label, Mob Records.

Based in London and run by breakbeat don Tayo Popoola, Mob Records is home to Beber & Tamra and helped kick start the career of the Stanton Warriors. Over the years they've also released quality material from Ashley Beedle, Koma & Bones, Rennie Pilgrem and Lee Coombs. NuBreed are delighted with the new partnership which began after they first supported Tayo at the Prince of Wales in Melbourne last year. So far, Mob have released the first 12" single featuring "Ionosphere / Beats N Rhymes" to critical acclaim, with the second "Satellites / Xenomorph" due out in October.

Meantime, the Breeders have been incredibly busy with an impressive run of remixes including Way Out West, Tiesto & Junkie XL, PQM (Prince Quick Mix) and a very special bootleg mix of Skunk Anansie, produced after they happened upon the accapella on the internet. Mob submitted the remix to the band and their label, both of which have given it the double thumbs up. The mix will now see an official release on Mob Records before Christmas and will also appear on the NuBreed album as a bonus track. Up next will be a remix of "Poison" taken from the forthcoming Terminalhead album due out soon on Kilowatt - the label run by Bedrock Breaks & Y4K visionary DJ Hyper.

On the home front, Australian DJ legend Phil K teamed up with NuBreed for a very special round of live shows featuring Phil and all 3 members of NuBreed on stage mixing, scratching, effecting, singing, rhyming and playing their way through a myriad of music both familiar and composed especially for the show. Suitably they've once again been nominated for Best Live Act at this year's DMA's. Not content with weaving magic on stage, the foursome have also collaborated in the studio on a truly mind-blowing remix of a forthcoming single from New York based producer / DJ - Prince Quick Mix. The track entitled "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" will soon be out on white label, and another round of Phil K vs NuBreed live shows is planned for October - the first being a return to Seven in Melbourne on Friday October 4th, followed by a full length CD release in 2003.
