Muzikal Chairs: NME Hires Muzik's Editor

Muzik editor Conor McNicholas is to become the new editor of NME just months after taking over fellow IPC magazine Muzik (Music Week). His appointment is likely to introduce more dance music coverage to the sliding rock weekly, which in its 80s heyday wielded significant influence in shaping musical trends.

Whether progressive superclub-style house will be welcomed in NME though looks decidedly unlikely given McNicholas' unilateral assault on the genre in the current issue of Muzik (his cover declares "Prog Is Dead; Official").
