Moby Fails To Feed 5,000

5,000 fans were locked out of Moby's Manhattan show this week, when cops shut the gates of Pier 54 after 7,000 fans had crammed in to the 6,000 capavity open-air venue. However, John Digweed failed to show up while Sasha reportedly played for just 20 minutes.

"Thanks everybody for coming to our free show, but one apology: I'm sorry that Sasha didn't play for longer. And Digweed was ill. Sorry. But Sasha's brief set was great. Thanks Sasha," Moby wrote on his site after the event.

Less impressed was Maria 909, the DJ and journalist behind informative NYC club listings e-zine Distort 909.

"It totally sucked, thank God it was free," she said.

"Jackie Christie with her KTU Disco Ball Set, caused trains to derail, while Sasha, with his 20 minute set, wasn't worth it. Moby was cool, though," she added.
