Viv Craske has been confirmed as the new editor for Mix Mag, winning the job after publishers EMAP advertised in the Guardian for a person with a "a wicked sense of humour" accompanied by a "bold new strategy" for the 10 year old magazine.

Craske, who's been temporary acting editor since erstwhile chief Tom Whitwell joined The Face, told Music Week he'll be introducing "dramatic" changes to the title, which this month focuses on office workers' favourite School disco.

Speaking to Skrufff recently about the current dip in compilation CD sales, Viv appeared unimpressed by the generaal state of England's club scene, talking of "the blandness of dance music and the rise of nu-metal".

This week, however, he remained tight lipped.

"We're planning some dramatic and bold changes throughout Mixmag to reflect the different way people go out and listen to dance music," he said.
