Commercial festival experts The Mean Fiddler Group will be taking over "operational management" of this year's Glastonbury Festival, having purchased 20% of the legendary event, nme.com reported this week. The link-up is likely to help save the festival's long term future, though almost certainly marks the end of Glastonbury's already tenuous association with "alternative" culture, for which it was long renowned.

Tickets go on sale from next Friday (February 22nd ) costing £100 each, with strict printed warnings stating "No Moshing" (moshing being the slam dancing associated with rock bands). Unconfirmed reports suggest Coldplay, Blur, Stereophonics, and Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) will be performing live, though Glastonbury boss Michael Eavis won't confirm any until the event is sold out. Mean Fiddler's presence will almost certainly discourage many potential fence jumpers from travelling down at all.
Trust The DJ Release Patrick Forge's "4 Letter Word" Compilation

Patrick Forge's latest mix CD for online operators Trustthedj.com is unashamedly informed by a "jazz" perspective," he admits, speaking on the press release accompanying the new release.

"This might be jazz, but it's dance music, first and foremost," says Patrick. "I'm also heavily into Latin sounds and rhythms and have been throughout my career, and inevitably some of that flavour has found its way into this mix."

A little too jazzy for the Skrufff team's tastes, the CD contains cuts from Hefner, Fertile Grounds and one from one of jazz's moodiest player of all, Herbie Hancock. Out on 25th February it's also only available via the website.
