Primal Scream's bass player Mani believes 9/11 was caused by Americans rather than Al Qaida, he says in the latest issue of Mix Mag. The former Stone Rose revealed his conspiracy theory when asked about Primal Scream's eerily prescient track Bomb The Pantagon, which the band previewed last August.

"Osama Bin Laden really fucked up our tune, it was a good tune and a good message and then he went and did it. If it was him," said Mani.

"I don't think it was anything to do with Islamic fundamentalists, I think it was America. I think they've let something happen there, so they can go and do what they want around the world."

In the same issue of Mix Mag, fellow Mancunian acid house veteran Bez from the Happy Mondays also challenged US authorities, questioning their true strategy behind the war on drugs.

"Drugs haven't been legalised because the CIA use them to finance wars around the world," he claimed.
