Laurent Garnier Welcomes 2003 @ the End, London
Author: Jonty Adderley
Saturday, November 30, 2002
Tickets cost a somewhat expensive £35 for the night, which opens at 9pm and runs until mid day, with Garnier playing a marathon set until noon when he'll presumably be loosening up with some fine wine or champagne.
"I don't drink too much until towards the end of my sets so I can concentrate at the beginning," he told Skrufff earlier this year.
"I'll be thinking 'How can I catch this crowd, where can I go-' and because I play so many different styles of music I really need to be aware about where I'm going." He'll also be watching the New Year's revellers.
"There's nothing better than seeing people shaking their booty (ass), it's lovely. Boys AND girls, not just the girls," he continued.
"When the room gets funky, it gets much sexier and the interaction with the crowd is much better. You can get quite hard and even quite violent but you've got to keep it funky."
